"I'VE GOT THIS PAIN IN MY (X) WHEN I DO THIS (Y)"

I was having a polite conversation with a fellow at a coffee shop. I told him I was a yoga therapist and he immediately blurted that he was having the most mysterious pain in his hip and what did I think was going on?

I know better than to play coffee shop therapist - so I threw the question back at him. "What do YOU think is going on?" His response was, "I don't know. I run 5 miles a day and then do Crossfit. I can't imagine why it hurts." 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫 I really get this question a lot! "Can you give me your opinion on this (X) that is bothering me when I do (Y)?" Simple answer, not really. But I can at least offer some safer, simpler solutions for you to start having that conversation with the right person: YOU. The video here has you repeating the pose slowly - which gives you the opportunity to feel for yourself where the pain originates, where it travels to, what other parts might be in cahoots with it, what moves relieve, and what moves make feel stronger.

You might even ask yourself, "Is it really PAIN or is it SENSATION"? By practicing this way you're becoming your own yoga therapist! But if you still want a professional opinion, you always have me! ❤️ Hey. This video came from my online Yoga Teacher Training.
